Get a Dog
I know I’ve already written about all the reasons why you should get a dog, but I’m here to remind you: get a dog! If one dog doesn’t fix all your problems, get another dog! Get a dog for your dog.
After accidentally acquiring Lady Belle, we intentionally brought Belvis into our lives.
Lady Belle frequently sits and barks at me when I’m on my computer. My reaction is to take her outside. But once this has repeated the 4th time, in less than 15 minutes: I quit taking her outside. As much as I love her and want to fill my entire being with her, I do still have a human job that requires me clocking hours on the laptop. I’m unsure if Lady has a 6th scene and knowing that I shouldn’t be spending so many hours on the computer, like a service dog, here to remind me about real life and existence instead of my nearly imaginary computer world or if she doesn’t understand what I’m doing.
Mom: this looks boring and you haven’t moved, why don’t you play with me instead?
At any rate, sometimes she’ll go potty when she’s requested a laptop break from me and I don’t want to break her potty training habits, so out we go.
Until Belvis, mostly. She still loves to bark at me and asks to go outside, although I’m currently writing this in a fenced in yard as they both play outside, but Belvis will grab her ear (a way in which puppies correct each other’s bad behaviors) and drag her away from me to play with him. Belvis has never yet sat at me and barked. He has cried and whined, especially if Lady is somewhere he’s not or I try to leave him and take Lady Belle with me, but he’s a much quieter boy when it comes to barking at me…at other…
