How to Start Eating Breakfast, Even If You Hate Eating Breakfast

Your wellness journey begins with small, easy to achieve goals, that can be accomplished in one day, or even better in one small action. But I’m not going to ask you to go cook eggs and bacon on the first day you are trying to eat breakfast. Instead I’m going to help you get set up for success the night before so you can wake up an tackle your goals.

I didn’t want to eat breakfast. First thing in the morning and late at night were the worst two times for my stomach issues and the last thing I wanted to do in the morning was eat. But my doctor told me how important it was to eat breakfast or at least something first thing in the morning.

First, let’s redefine breakfast. It isn’t your classic walk into Denny’s get a grand slam breakfast platter. Some of us (me) have gluten and egg allergies, nearly knocking out all breakfast foods. Let’s think of breakfast as any food being eaten first thing in the morning. After we establish our first habit, we can then begin to think about meals.

Tonight’s goal: find a bite of food that you can set on your bedside table so there is no effort between waking up and putting that food in your mouth. I used grapes and strawberries when I played this game but apples, bananas, oranges, carrots, or other foods that will do well unrefrigerated for 12 hours are a good idea too.
