Smaller Steps Instead of Leaps and Bounds Towards a Better Version of Yourself
We all want to be well. We all want to be 100% well now. But taking one small, achievable step towards wellness today is where your wellness journey begins.
If I woke up one day and I was a completely different person (on the inside) with a different personality, I’d be freaked out. I’ve been trying to change, to become the best, healthiest, most positive, and productive version of myself but if suddenly I were dumped into the new universe I’ve been slowly cultivating throughout my adult life. I’d probably wonder what type of drugs or what did I do last night that changed me completely.
Right now, I’m comparing myself to the version of myself that said, “Well what about my 10,000 steps per day?” When the doctor told me I was too stressed, my adrenals were shot, and I needed to take it easier. A few months after that statement I was able to take it easier but it came in steps and stages. Smaller goals, less pressure on myself from myself, and saying no to some external things. The internal changes were the most difficult at first but after a while I was able to adapt and now I’ve even been able to restart some of my better patterns of productivity while still staying at a lower stress level.
