What Does Panera Bread Chicken Actually Have on it?
I’ve been on a Paleo + other guidelines elimination diet and so far (5 days in) it has been working wonders for my digestive issues and brain fog. But eating out is nearly impossible/a pain at best. We researched and found Panera Bread offered antibiotic free chicken, so I bit, ordered a salad and was disappointed when the chicken arrived with all sorts of random spices and a marinade on it. I ate, had some light pains, and decided to figure out what was causing my distress. It looked like it had a tiny bit of paprika on it (which is on my do not eat list) so I wanted to jot down what exactly it was that was bothering me. Instead I found a huge host of ingredients and now sadly have to cross this off my list of clean eating solutions.
Citrus & Pepper Chicken (boneless skinless chicken breast fillets with rib meat, water, seasoning [lemon, mangosteen, natural smoke flavor], sea salt, dehydrated garlic, dehydrated onion, sugar, dry lemon peel, black pepper, red pepper, dehydrated rosemary, dehydrated basil, citric acid, malic acid and paprika for flavor, vinegar, rice starch)
Mangosteen, natural smoke flavor, sugar, citric acid, malic acid, paprika, and rice starch are all on my no list. So much for “chicken”.
